Program Overview

A Place to Live was designed specifically to service the chronically homeless, and low-income population in the Worcester area, some of which may have physical or mental disabilities. A Place to Live will support residents in a variety of ways as they seek to transition from homelessness. The facility can accommodate 24 individuals, each with their own apartment. These are micro-studio apartments that are fully furnished and have WIFI, a security system, card access, a 24-hour Resident Manager, a Case Manager, a Community Room, and Laundry Facilities as well as meeting rooms.

A Place to Live is expected to open to residents by the end of November or in early December. A ribbon cutting ceremony featuring several distinguished guests and funding partners was held Tuesday, Oct. 31. A Place to Live is the first permanent homeless housing facility in Worcester and the first in New England created by a Housing Authority.
