Resident Services Summer Camp Programs


Each summer the Worcester Housing Authority (WHA) provides a free summer camp experience for WHA children. Families can choose from a variety of summer camp options based on the needs. Programming is available on a first come first serve basis and is free to WHA residents. Registration is now open (see timeline below) and is coordinated by the Resident Services Department. Parents of participating children are required to attend one scheduled “Know Your Camp Night” in order for their child to attend camp.

Registration Opening Dates:

• Family Self-Sufficiency and A Better Life Program Participants: Opens April 19, 2024
• WHA Public Housing Residents: Opens April 29, 2024
• Section 8/Leased Housing Voucher Holders: Opens June 3, 2024

Please review the camp options below and follow the instructions to sign up your child for the camp of your choosing. Campers are enrolled on a first-come, first-serve basis. If the camp you have selected is full, the WHA will contact you to make another selection or to place you on the waitlist.

2024 Camp Options:

GIRLS INC. OF WORCESTER (GIRLS-ONLY PROGRAMS)

Girls Inc inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold, and equip girls to navigate gender, economic and social barriers to grow into healthy, educated, and independent adults.



CAMP KINNEYWOOD
Monday – Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Incoming 1st grade girls, ages 5 to 12
6-week program – July 1- August 9
Transportation Provided

Camp description:
Camp description: Camp Kinneywood is Girls Inc's Summer Camp location
in the woods of Worcester with a lake front space. All girls will have
opportunities to explorer outdoor adventures! Daily activities include
lakefront swimming, campfire cooking, kayaking, arts and crafts, and
experiments. On Fridays, all Girls will join us at our indoor location
on Providence Street. 

Daily activities vary from:

- Gardening
- Self care
- Science experiments
- Sports
- Swimming

 

CAMP PROVIDENCE STREET
Monday - Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Incoming kindergarten girls, ages 5 to 12
6-week program – July 1- August 9
Transportation Provided

Camp description:
Girls Inc. summer camp at Providence Street will have something for all girls! Our activities offer girls choice and different options to explore interests and new ideas.

Daily activities vary from:

- Outdoor water games
- Arts and Crafts
- Science Lab
- Self-Care!
- Gardening and Cooking
- Swimming and Sports
- Dance and More

Each week camp will have a different theme. Safari, outer space, under the sea, and more!

HOW TO REGISTER FOR ONE OF GIRLS INC’S CAMP PROGRAMS:

FOR NEW GIRLS INC MEMEBRS

STEP 1: Go to our website: Click Here for GIRLS INC. Then under “Programs” select “Enroll in a Program” and scroll to the bottom of the page to the “New to Girls Inc of Worcester: Register Here” link. This will redirect you to myprocare.com where you will complete a pre-registration
STEP 2: In the new tab for myprocare.com, follow the prompts and and enter your email address. This will prompt you to create a password.
STEP 3: Once your password is created, re-enter your email address and password to log in to myprocare.com.
STEP 4: Once logged into myprocare.com, you will click “Begin Re-Registration” and follow the prompts to enroll your child into one of our summer camp programs.


FOR CURRENT GIRLS INC MEMBERS

STEP 1: Go to https://www.myprocare.com Click Here and log in to your account.
STEP 2: Select “Begin Re-Registration” and follow the prompts to enroll your child into one of our summer camp programs.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF WORCESTER (ALL GENDER PROGRAMS)
Boys & Girls Club of Worcester aims to help youth, especially those who need us most, develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and community leaders, through caring professional staff who forge relationships with our youth members and influence their ability to succeed in life



KIDS CLUB
Monday - Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm
Ages 5 to 7
8-week program – June 24- August 16
Transportation Provided

Camp description: Kids Club will provide onsite programming at the
Great Brook Valley Community Center (180 Constitution Avenue)
to stimulate the imagination of campers, increase literacy
skills and joy of reading, and keep kids physically active.
Weekly themed activities include contests, arts & crafts,
music, dance, and sports. We have created a new “tween” program
for kids ages 11-13! Adhering to state health guidelines, your
child will be in a safe and fun learning environment. .

Daily activities include:
- Arts & crafts
- Music
- Dance
- Sports & more



STEP-UP HARRINGTON
Monday – Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm
Ages 8 to 13 8-week program – June 24- August 16
Transportation Provided 


Camp description: Campers will be transported by bus from GBV to the Boys & Girls Club BGC of Worcester’s state-of-the art facility where they will select weekly “camps” to participate in, including girls-only, STEM, athletic, and arts programs. Campers have the opportunity to swim each day in our collegiate-sized pool and explore the building, which includes a fitness center (with boxing ring), gymnasium, outdoor science classroom, music studio, dance room, rock-climbing wall and more! It’s the perfect way for our older kids to “step up” into more programming and activities made for their ages and abilities!

Daily activities include:
- Pool & gymnasium
- Outdoor science
- Dance & music studio
- Rock climbing & more

HOW TO REGISTER FOR ONE OF THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB’S CAMP PROGRAMS:

FOR NEW BOYS & GIRLS CLUB MEMBERS

STEP 1: Go to the MyClubHub link: Click Here For Link Then Click “Create Account?” Enter in parent’s information to register.
STEP 2: You will receive an email asking you to validate your email. At that time you will create your password.
STEP 3: Reopen the MyClubHub link above and log-in.
STEP 4: Please complete membership registration "Great Brook Valley Club House". A Boys & Girls Club staff will contact you to finalize the summer program registration, once you have completed the registration application.


FOR CURRENT BOYS & GIRLS CLUB MEMBERS

STEP 1: Go to MyClubHub link Click Here For Link and log into your account.
STEP 2: Please complete membership registration "Great Brook Valley Club House". A Boys & Girls Club staff will contact you to finalize the summer program registration, once you have completed the registration application
