The Worcester Housing Authority invites all tenants and the general public to a review of the Authority's proposed Annual Agency Plan FY-25 and The 5-Year Agency Plan which is intended to provide insight into the Authority’s operations and plans for the coming fiscal year(s) as they affect the Authority’s federally-aided public housing. Hearing time and date: 12/30/2024 at 10:00a.m.

Hearing location: Worcester HA – 630 Plantation Street, Conference Center, ground floor. Special Instructions Below.
  • Comments may be submitted orally at the hearing, by emailing the housing authority office, or by submitting written comments at the housing authority’s office.
  • Comments must be received no later than the close of the public hearing.

The Annual Plan is inended to provide insight into the Authority's operations and plans for the coming fiscal year as they affect the Authority's state-aided public housing. The Proposed Annual Plan is comprised of the following elements:

1. Proposed Capital Improvement Plan (5-year)
2. Proposed Maintenance and Repair Plan
3. Current Operating Budget
4. Responses to the Performance Management Review (PMR) findings
5. List of housing authority policies
6. List of waivers from governing regulations of the Department of Housing and Community Development
7. Other elements

These updates are prompted by The Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act of 2016. A Place to Live - 38 Lewis Street Worcester, MA 01610

The Worcester Housing Authority (WHA) announces that it will be taking applications for its A Place to Live development located at 38 Lewis Street, Worcester, MA from December l, 2022 through February 15, 2023. A Place to Live is a new development project of 24 furnished studio apartments designed specifically to service the homeless, chronically homeless, and low-income population in the Worcester area, some of which may have physical or mental disabilities. A Place to Live will support the residents in a manner that is supportive of their efforts at re-housing and/or rehabilitation. The WHA reserves the right to determine homelessness. All applications received by the WHA during the application acceptance period will be entered into a lottery that will be held on March l, 2023 at 2:00PM at the WHA's Administrative Building located at 630 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA. Informational sessions relative to the program and eligibility requirements will be held for all interested parties on January 6, 2023 at 2:00PM and 5:30PM in the lower level conference center located in the WHA Administrative building. Bilingual (English/Spanish) interpreters will be available. Please contact the WHA at (508) 635-3000 if you require interpreter services in another language.
